Period of Mystagogy or Postbaptismal Catechesis (Neophytes) "Mystagogy means reflecting on the mysteries, to savour the mysteries. Mystagogy is the process wherein we ponder the saving experience of the Holy - in this case through the celebration of the initiation sacraments - in order to understand better who we are and whose we are. This is also a period where the Neophytes, through the help of their Godparents and the RCIA team, become more integrated with the community. During this period the Neophytes will: · Meditate on the Gospels readings · Sharing in the Eucharistic Celebration · Doing works of Charity The Mystagogy period usually last for the duration of Easter Season. It could be extended up to the anniversary of initiation. Thus your journey has NOT ended but a NEW beginning. |
