Mission Statement

We, at OLPS Kindergarten, believe in the creation of a Christ-centred kindergarten community, where children work together as one, yet at the same time are aware of their individual uniqueness.

Objectives
To provide pre-school education for children ages 3+ to 6+ in preparation for primary education. It is based on our concept of providing a conducive learning environment for each child, especially in the areas of
physical, intellectual, emotional, social, moral and spiritual developments.

Eligibility
Admission
Nursery: 3+ to 4+ years old
Kindergarten 1: 4+ to 5+ years old
Kindergarten 2: 5+ to 6+ years old


School Fees (2007)
Nursery : $350 ) inclusive of snacks,
work-books
K1 : $300 ) and stationery.
K2 : $330 - the above-mentioned plus computer enrichment classes.

School Hours
1st Session: 8.00 am to 11.00 am
2nd Session: 11.15 am to 2.15 p.m.

Your child should not be brought to school before 7.45 am nor should he/she be left at school later than 2.30 p.m.. Please arrange to pick up your child punctually after school. Should there be any change in transport arrangement, please inform the bus-driver, principal and teacher to avoid any confusion.

Curriculum/Activities
English Language, Chinese Language, Mathematics, Story & Rhymes, Music & Movement, Phonics and Reading, Snack Time, Art & Craft, Indoor Play, Outdoor Play, Nature Walk (Science & Discovery), Catechism, Computer Enrichment Programmes, Social & Moral Ethics.

Facilities
Our facilities include conducive classrooms with simulating play corners, playground, play vehicles & a music & movement room.

We are focused on developing your child emotionally, socially & looking out for their
moral & spiritual development.

Your child will be nurtured in an environment where fundamental values
like love, care, concern and respect for others will be inculcated into the
growing-up process.

Social Development (To be seen when mousing over ìsociallyî)
Group sharing activities which foster companionship building will help to
develop your child socially.

Moral and Spiritual Development (To be seen when mousing over ìmoral & spiritualî)
As a Catholic Kindergarten, we believe in our mission statement and
provide quality kindergarten education built on the foundation of Christian
principles and practices.

Special Activities and Field Trips
Special events like Chinese New Year, Easter, National Day, Children's Day are celebrated in school. Meaningful and educational field trips are also conducted. Where admission fees and transportation are required, we will need reimbursement from parents.

Parents Involvement
Parents are encouraged to be involved in the programmes pertaining to the child's overall development organized by the Kindergarten, e.g., parent-teacher meetings, talks, open house and orientation. They are also encouraged to interact with the teachers and seek the staff's advice on matters pertaining to the development of their child.

Holidays and Vacations
These coincide whenever possible with those of primary schools. The Kindergarten will be closed on all public holidays. You will be informed if there are any half days or special holidays.

Transport
We do not accept responsibility for the transport. A list of drivers who provide school transport is available on request. Negotiations are made between the drivers and parents themselves.
